Scott Harris career
He went to Washington Nationals(2008) and Cincinnati Redi(2010) for his Internships.
As a coordinator of Major League operations in the Commissioner's office, he worked for Major League Baseball (MLB) for two years(2010-2012). During his period, he worked as transaction support and analysis for all 30 clubs and worked on the first 5-player draft, the World Baseball classics. He had performed various industry studies.
Harris had served the Chicago club for seven years from 2012, working related to the baseball operations department and other roles in the club for seven years as assistant general manager of General Manager Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer. He had a lot of experience while leaving the Chicago club.
He was appointed as the General Manager after the 2019 season. He had served for almost 3years as a General Manager of the Giants.
Recently, Scott Harris joined the Tigers as President of the baseball operation. On September 9, 2022, the Tigers announced their new president after firing Avila.
The Tigers had given Avila to rebuilding the young talent base. Under him, the Tigers successfully won 86 matches in 2016 but went 64-98 in 2017 and 2018. In 2019, they bottomed out at 47-114. This season they were 43-68 at the time of Avila, but after the addition of Harris, now they are 55-91.
Fans are expecting more growth in the increase rate with the addition of Harris, as the Tigers are not being successful in winning seasons since 2016.
