Nilou Motamed is an American magazine editor and television personality of Iranian origin. She is a regular judge on the television show Top Chef.
Motamed was formerly the Editor-in-Chief of Food & Wine and Condé Nast's Epicurious.
Nilou, 51, was born in Tehran in 1971 and spent her childhood in Iran.
The television personality earned dual degrees in political science and philosophy while studying at Binghamton University in upstate New York and the Sorbonne in Paris.
She was the driving force behind the magazine's annual "Food & Travel" issue and the "Eat Like a Local" special.Motamed is fluent in four languages: French, Spanish, English, and Persian.
