Battle Of The Badges Baseball 2023
NYPD FDNY baseball game 2023 Citi Field was scheduled for Thursday, August 10, at 7:10 p.m. However, the event was rescheduled for August 17 due to rain forecast.
The annual Fire Department of New York (FDNY) vs. New York Police Department (NYPD) charity baseball game is presented by Ford. Former seven-time All-Star and New York Mets captain David Wright is set to host the game.
The pre-game ceremony will include a program where Wright will honor FDNY and NYPD heroes for doing The Wright Thing. The event scheduled for August 10 had to be postponed due to a rain forecast.
The game is rescheduled for August 17 at 7:10 p.m. The parking lots at the Citi Field will open at 5:00 p.m., and the ballpark gates will open half an hour later.
Each team will feature former high school, college, and minor league players who are now members of NYPD or FDNY. The historic series is tied, with both teams winning twelve games each.
Last season, NYPD came from behind to defeat the Fire Department with a score of 9-6 in front of a crowd of 3,500 spectators at Citi Field. New York Mets catcher James McCann also attended the charity game.
The fans visiting the ballpark cannot bring backpacks into the Mets' home ground other than allowed in the Citi Field Bag Policy. This policy is kept in place for the safety purpose of the visitors.
