Minnesota Twins is a professional Major League Baseball team that was founded as Washington Senators in 1901. It is one of the eight original franchises of the American League.

Initially, they were located in the capital city of the United States Washington D.C. playing at Griffith Stadium till 1960. They moved to  Minnesota in 1961 after Calvin Griffith took charge of the team following his father's demise.

Griffith decided to move the team after Minnesota guaranteed a million annual attendance for three years while doubling the TV and Radio subscriptions for the team. They were renamed to Minnesota Twins in 1961 as the Montreal Expos moved to Washington in their place.

The Twins started playing their home games at Metropolitan Stadium in their early days after the shift. Currently, they play all their home games at Target Field starting from 2010. It boasts a seating capacity of 38,554 guests after its last renovation in 2019.
