Visual Arts Scholarship

The Greater Washington, DC (WCADC) Visual Arts Scholarship celebrates students who are enrolled in a high school within DC, Maryland, or Virginia.
Additionally, BIPOC female-identifying first and second-year college students can apply for the grant.
To apply for the scholarship, the applicant should be scheduled to attend either a two or four-year college or university in a visual fine arts major.
Eligibility criteria include: Applicants must currently be enrolled in twelfth grade in a public or private school in DC, MD, or VA. Past winners and WCA members and their families are ineligible for the award.
The scholarship award can be used for tuition, room and board, and educational resources at any college or university.
The Frederic Whitaker & Eileen Monaghan Whitaker Foundation Scholarship
Award Value: $2000
The Foundation aims to help art students be prepared for the modern art and museum world by focusing on watercolor and museum studies.
As a part of the application process, the candidates must show their understanding of the Whitakers’ works through essays or watercolor paintings.
The foundation offers 3 different scholarships of $2000 each. The first grant is for a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis on watercolor. The second aid is for a Bachelor of Arts in Illustration with a watercolor emphasis. The third choice is a Bachelor of Arts in Art History or Museum Studies.
The candidate must be an undergraduate student at a recognized university pursuing fine arts with at least a 3.0 GPA to be qualified for financial aid.
Hunter Dean Temple Art Scholarship

The program intends to empower the museum educators within the art museum community, improve the relationship between museum educators and curators, and expand the career options in this field.
The fellowship is given to individuals who have completed a B.A., M.A., or Ph.D. It offers grants to American Art Museums sponsoring supervised internships in art museum education.

AIGA Worldstudio Scholarships

Virginia Museum Of Fine Arts Visual Arts Fellowship

In support of visual arts and art history, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Visual Arts Fellowship offers scholarships in various categories based on the requirements of the highlighted visual arts courses.
The Fellowship Program began in 1940 thanks to a generous donation from John Lee Pratt of Fredericksburg.
Today, through the Pratt endowment and with additional help from the J. Warwick McClintic Jr. Scholarship Fund, it is dedicated to supporting professional artists as well as art and art history students showing extraordinary potential in their field.
