Every student has to take 9 semesters of courses, with 3 focusing on basic science and general education. 

At the end of the program, the YSU's DH graduate will develop skills that will help to perform oral examinations, study radiographs, conduct fluoride therapy, teeth polishing, scaling, and making study models.

All college graduates have to take regional, state, and national board exams before getting their certified Dental Hygiene license.
