Dusty Baker's Managerial Career
Dusty Baker has had a successful career in baseball world as a manager. He has been one of the most remarkable sports personalities for the past fifty five years. He started as a player for the baseball team Atlanta Braves in the year 1968 and the rest is history.
After stepping aside from his career as a player, Baker has been contributing his skills in the game as a coach and team manager. He started coaching San Francisco Giants in 1988 which went on for five years until 1993. He got to manage the very team he was coaching from 1993 to 2002.
He signed with Chicago Cubs in the year 2003 as a team manager. Cubs won a division title within the first season under Baker's management. He was with the team till 2006.
He went on to manage Cincinnati Reds from 2007 to 2013 till the Reds lost to Pittsburgh Pirates in the National League Wild Card Game which resulted in his dismissal from the managerial post.
In the year 2015, he was appointed as the manager for Washington Nationals. He worked with them until 2017.
He got back with San Francisco Giants as an advisor in 2018.
Baker has been coaching and managing Houston Astros since 2020. Astros have recently won 2022 World Championship against Philadelphia Phillies.
