As a high school senior, there are many things to prepare and know about. Scholarships are one of the most important things as they help secure much-needed college financing.

Many organizations and foundations are offering numerous scholarships to high school seniors. The scholarships range from a one-time payment of a few thousand dollars to covering the entire four-year funding.

So, to help high school seniors choose the right scholarship based on their ability and eligibility, we have compiled a list of 10 scholarships in this article.

1. Elks National Foundation Scholarship Program

The first scholarship for high school seniors on our list is from Elks National Foundation. The Foundation offers a scholarship program to 500 high school seniors every year to fund their college or four-year undergraduate level. The scholarship offers up to $12,500 per year for four years.

The eligibility criteria and requirements for securing the scholarship are fairly easy but the competition is high. It is only available to high school seniors who are yet to graduate, they must be US citizens, and they must know the English language if it is not their mother tongue.

The seniors must enroll in full-time programs in college and the institution must be accredited.

2. National Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship

3. Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation

One of the biggest scholarships available to high school seniors, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation awards $20,000 scholarships to 150 students annually and spends around $3.5 million annually in scholarships alone.

However, this scholarship award might get a little competitive as it is purely based on academic success, extracurricular activities, and leadership qualities leaving less room for making your application stand out from the rest.

Furthermore, the applicants must not be children or grandchildren of current or former Coca-Cola employees. The applicants must also be able to show proof of a minimum overall B/3.0 GPA in high school courses to apply for this program.

4. Cooke College Scholarship Program

This college scholarship program might have a misleading name but it is available just to high school seniors looking to pursue their college in some of the best colleges in the United States of America. Cooke College Scholarship Program covers up to $55,000 in educational expenses per year.

While parents do not need to contribute any funds, students may be required to work part-time or summer jobs to pay off part of their funding depending on the type they receive.

6. BigFuture Scholarship

Unlike other scholarships on our list, BigFuture Scholarship is more like a lottery. To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicants are required to complete six steps one after another. There are no minimum GPA or essay requirements for this scholarship.

There are two draws, one for a $500 award and another for a $40,000 award, both of which are one-time awards. However, it is not as completely random as it sounds, as the selection committee will take into consideration the financial condition of the family increasing their chance of getting an award by double.

The scholarship incentivizes students to start the college application process and complete the steps necessary to get accepted and find enough financial aid.

7. GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship provides a $10,000 renewable scholarship - up to $40,000 total - for tuition, school fees, books, supplies, and on-campus room and board. This enables students with good academic records to pursue full-time college without piling up heaps of student debts.

The requirements are not complicated as well, to be eligible for the program, the applicant must be a United States citizen who is currently a high school senior within the United States or United States territories and Commonwealth. Homeschooled applicants can also apply. They must have a GPA of over 3.0 on a scale of 4 and plan to attend full-time college for four years.

Additionally, the applicant must have achieved a score of 28 composite or higher on the ACT exam (or at least 1240 on the SAT).
