Watergate Lawyer G. Gordon Liddy, a prominent name in the history of America as the mastermind behind the water conspirators, is an FBI agent and talk show host.

Liddy is best remembered for the watergate scandal that resulted in the resignation of President Richard M. Nixon in 1974.

The former lawyer and conservative talk-show host Liddy died at the age of 90 on 30th March 2021 at his daughter's home in Fairfax County.

The reason for his death was initially undercovered but later was revealed by his son Thomas that he had Parkinson's disease.

G. Gordan was born on 30th November 1930 in Brooklyn, New York, to parents Sylvester James Liddy and Maria (Abbaticchio) Liddy.

His birth name is George Gordon Battle Liddy, and he was raised in Hoboken, New Jersey. Growing up, Liddy had respiratory problems and was fearful. But with time, he learned to muster up his courage by testing his will powers.

His dad was also a lawyer by profession. Following the footstep of his father, Gordon also went on to study at the all-male St. Benedict's Prep School in Newark. He later graduated from Fordham University in the year 1952.

Three years after graduation, Gordon again gained a law degree from the Fordham University School of Law. Upon his graduation, he started working as an FBI agent.

Known as a man of his principle, Liddy s a hero and villain to some. He conspired to burglarize and wiretap the Democratic Party's Watergate headquarters.

His role in the Watergate scandal in 1972 led him to a 20-year sentence. However, he was released from prison after 52 months by President Jimmy Carter in 1977.

To sum up, the last two people found guilty in the Watergate plot were Gordon Liddy and James W. McCord, a veteran of the CIA and FBI.

In 1980, Liddy published a brutally honest and controversial autobiography titled Will, which became the no. 1 national best seller and received mixed reviews from the readers.

His autobiography was even adapted into a TV movie in 1982, but it leaned into his lousy reputation and landed him in several villain roles.

Watergate's most colorful character G. Gordon Liddy tied the wedding knot with Frances Ann Purcell in 1957. 

Gordon and his wife Frances were parents to 5 children together. Three sons, namely Thomas Purcell Liddy, James Gordon Liddy, and Raymond Joseph Liddy, and two daughters, Alexandra Liddy Bourne and Grace Alfarata Liddy.

The duo was blissfully married for over 53 years until his wife died. His wife, Frances, passed away on 5th February 2010. 

Additionally, his partner Frances worked for the Poughkeepsie Savings Bank as an economic analyst for the Central Hudson Gas & Electric Company and IBM before landing in the teaching profession.

Frances graduated from Poughkeepsie High School and earned an Economics degree from the College of New Rochelle.

Furthermore, Frances also earned a Master's degree in Education from the State University of New York.
